How Does Your Site Perform? - Live Test Drives

IRWD Design Workshop - Feb. 10, 2014

Monday, February 10, 2014 - 10:45am to 11:45am
Speaker(s):

William Albert - Executive Director, User Experience Center - Bentley University

Scott Kincaid - Vice President, User Experience - Usability Sciences

This session examines web site design and usability in a new, multifaceted fashion. First, you’ll observe usability lab participants as they navigate web sites, encounter and overcome design flaws with contextual commentary provided by two usability experts. Next, three attendees will be invited to the stage to take part in live usability exercises — unscripted and spontaneous — as they explore web sites volunteered by members of the audience. Through these “live test drives,” you’ll watch as your peers visit sites for the first time and carry out basic tasks such as search, finding product descriptions and checkout. Common roadblocks will become evident and examples of superior execution will be highlighted by our speakers, whose insights and design improvement recommendations will reveal ways to make your site more intuitive, beautiful and easy to navigate.
